Barbarian eagle travel gear

Description

To move about with a barbarian eagle on arm (over 5 kg ) is not easy, that's why they are used mostly in mounted falconry, especially for hunting where finding a prey can be quite long to begin with.
For the weight of the eagle to rest on the horse rather than the austringer's arm, special saddle are used.
They have longer seat with thicker panels and various girth to avoid the perch to move too much
There exist two types:
One with the perch in the front: for short travel, the perch is curved and also be used to rest one's arm holding the bird as well as the eagle itself. (visibility can be bothersome, the saddle is long so the rider can sit while letting a little room to the bird.
One with the perch at the back, for longer travel (move of the eagle are less a problem, still good to check on them from to time so need to turn around.)

Both type have a ring on the rider's side to secure the eagle's strap, a safety chain/rope can be added linking the bird to the saddle.
Perch can be carved with decoration on the extremities. It is included in the sewing of the saddle (the base is covered in leather) so replacing it can be quite expensive (better buy another saddle...)
Additionnal saddle pads are adviced to be put under the perch part of the saddle.

Silver Arrow Lutino male paired with bovidaeloony's FFS Mister Darcy on rear type saddle.
Hooded Brown female paired with CSStables's Frank on front type saddle.

Also notice for the same height, the female is heavier/larger.

Oh my this looks glorious! <3 Thank you for borrowing Frank ;D both horses look perfectly matched with their eagles!

I have to say this tempts me greatly for a Barbarian eagle. An extra pair of handstalons to keep away the horse thieves and wolves ;D
